These terms apply to the Bowli website, beta waitlist and iPhone app, published under the Aquarel Labs brand in Ireland. By using Bowli, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who can use Bowli
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter an agreement. A registered account is required for the app. Provide accurate information, protect your credentials and device, and contact support if you suspect unauthorised access.
2. The current Free experience
Free includes food logging in grams, saved-portion corrections, personal starting calorie and macro estimates, Today, weekly Progress and Settings. We do not currently offer new paid access, meal photography analysis, AI advice, swaps or cloud food-history sync. Beta features may change. The waitlist does not guarantee admission, a launch date or any future feature.
3. Estimates, not medical care
Bowli provides general nutrition information for adults, not diagnosis, treatment or a clinically validated prescription. Starting targets are estimates based on supported profile inputs and do not capture every health factor. Do not rely on Bowli for allergies, emergencies, eating-disorder care or medical conditions. Seek qualified professional advice for pregnancy, breastfeeding or diet-related illness. Stop tracking if it causes distress. Bowli cannot guarantee a health, weight or performance outcome.
4. Your data and device
You retain your information and allow the processing needed to provide the service as described in our Privacy Policy. Account and profile configuration is remote; Free food history stays on the device. CSV is an export for reading, not an importable backup. Bowli cannot restore that history from your account after reinstalling or losing the phone. Keep any copies you need; Apple backup behaviour depends on your settings.
5. Food data
The bundled food library and USDA search provide nutrient values that may vary by portion, product and preparation. Verify important information against labels or qualified advice. The absence of a food does not imply that a similar result has the same nutrients. Bowli does not certify allergens or suitability for a medical diet.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse another person’s identity or data, attempt unauthorised access, disrupt or overload services, bypass security or resell the service without permission. You may not infringe rights or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law permits it. Bowli’s software, branding and original content remain protected. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence for lawful use.
7. Existing subscriptions
The Free release does not offer new paid purchases. Existing subscriptions can still be restored and managed through the app and Apple. Removing Bowli or deleting its account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use your Apple subscription settings to cancel; Apple manages billing and refund requests. Any statutory rights remain unaffected.
8. Third-party services
Bowli uses Supabase, Cloudflare, Vercel, USDA, RevenueCat, Apple and optional Google sign-in. Their terms and service availability also apply. Apps obtained from Apple are subject to Apple’s usage rules and Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple does not provide Bowli support except as required by its terms or law.
9. Availability and ending use
We work to keep the service reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change or suspend features for security, legal, maintenance or product reasons, with reasonable notice of material adverse changes when possible. You can stop using the app and initiate account deletion in Settings. We may restrict accounts for serious misuse, security risks or legal requirements.
10. Liability and consumer rights
To the extent permitted by law, Bowli is provided as available without guarantees that every estimate, food record or feature fits your circumstances. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss to the extent legally permitted. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, negligent death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.
11. Law and changes
Irish law applies, while consumers keep mandatory protections in their country of residence. Contact us first about disputes; courts with jurisdiction under consumer law remain available. We will publish revised terms with an updated effective date and appropriate notice of material changes. If you do not accept the changes, stop using Bowli.
